Floating and Sinking

We read the book called Stuck where a tennis ball was lost down a hole. The girl put water in and it floated up to the top... We had some questions and wondering  about what floats and what sinks. Mrs Field set up some things to experiment with and we predicted if they would float or sink. It was fun guessing and then seeing what happened! We had to fill up the container with lots of water to start with. We all had turns to test the different things. We recorded our ideas and then tested them. It was very exciting.

Final session for ALL Reading Detectives

Our fifteen weeks have come to an end! In our final session we made sock puppets so we can read to our puppets!
We read A Hole in the King's Sock and decided to use our own old socks for puppets!
We took our detective tags home too. We have really enjoyed our learning with Mrs Field. We are good reading detectives!

Reading Detectives Morning Tea and Sharing time

Last term we invited all the students' families and some teachers to a morning tea in the hall. We planned the food, the invitations and the way we would spend our time there.
It was exciting to send out the invitations. We had read the book Tim's Costume so we knew all about getting invitations. Our brothers and sisters came too. They liked the food and seeing us read.
We looked at all the posts on the ALL reading Detectives blog. We shared our scrapbooks with the people there and read to different people. It was fun and Mrs Field was very proud of us. We had drink, cup cakes, scones like we made, sandwiches, sausage rolls and snake lollies!
Mrs Burrough gave out stickers to us all.
