Down at Te Tio Bay

Our group talked about things we like to do in summer. Our discussion centred around going to the beach. This led nicely into the story about what happened at Te Tio Bay. We wondered if there really was a bay called Te Tio Bay so we googled it. 

🔆We looked at the language and how it was repeated on several pages. 

🔆We looked at the illustrations and saw that they helped us with the story vocabulary. 

🔆We looked at rhyming words and made up some of our own. We wrote these on wipe boards.

🔆We listened to the story read by someone else and joined in where we could. 

On another day, Mrs Field did a running record on this story for all of us.
